The Glacsweb team has been working in Skalafellsjokull in Iceland since 2008. This is a large outlet of the Vatnajokull icecap. We measured ice depths of 100m in the area we worked in by using ground penetrating radar. A new set of hardware/software was made emphasising geophones, more power to the base station and a met station. WiFi is now used as a direct route for data back to the UK (with GPRS backup).
Field trips to Iceland took place in , 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 (plus video), 2014. and 2017 (Breiðamerkurjökull and Fjallsjokull)
During the 2008 trip we were able to film a probe descending the hole into the till layer
